I was just watching murderbot for the third(?) time this week and it reminded me of some of the parallels to what you've been writing about. There is a naivete, a child-like wonder with these new sentient beings that is almost affectionate if you stay with them for long enough
I'm glad you see those parallels between Murderbot and my android.That child-like wonder you mention, I felt exactly that with Klara and the Sun. There's something about these artificial beings that becomes almost endearing. I'll definitely check out the Murderbot series and the books it's based on!
